SPP 1914 Winter School January 2018

The DFG SPP 1914 conducted a Winter School from January 29th until February 2nd 2018 in Arosa, Switzerland. 20 researchers and 7 PIs gathered to exchange experiences from the first full year of the programme, to foster cooperations and to deepen the knowledge of the two major disciplines combined in this SPP (communication and control).

The program included three tutorials by high-profile researchers, including two invited guest lecturers. The main focus, however, was on three hands-on “BarCamp” projects in which the PhD students and PostDocs tackled practical issues from both research realms in limited time. The projects included building small network-controlled systems (NCSs) from scratch and investigating methods for the harmonization of different NCSs for evaluations. The results of the camps, tutorial material etc. will be shared in the internal Wiki platform of the SPP.
